Job summary

Messina Talent is seeking an experienced HR Operations Manager for a 12-month contract in Sydney. The role focuses on owning core HR processes within a highly regulated environment, ensuring strong controls and high-quality employee support.

You will manage payroll coordination, onboarding/offboarding, data reporting, compliance, and lifecycle processes while supporting performance, promotions, remuneration cycles, and HR projects.

Qualifications

• Have Australian experience from financial services, professional services or another regulated environment where accuracy, governance and strong process management are critical.
• Solid HR Operations and/or HR Advisory experience
• Strong understanding of HR processes across the employee lifecycle
• Exposure to Australian employment legislation; APAC experience would be highly regarded
• Strong risk and controls mindset
• Strong on systems capability
• Strong analytical, organizational and stakeholder management skills

Responsibilities

• Overseeing core HR operations including payroll coordination, onboarding, offboarding, leave, benefits and HR documentation
• Managing HR data, reporting, invoicing and internal controls
• Ensuring HR processes meet regulatory, compliance and employment law requirements
• Supporting annual performance, promotion and remuneration cycles
• Coordinating learning and development initiatives and regional training programs
• Supporting international mobility and individual employee matters
• Coordinating recruitment activity from advertising through to interview administration and follow-up
• Managing vendors and contributing to HR transformation, process improvement and offshoring initiatives
• Identifying opportunities to improve HR processes, controls and operational efficiency
