Job summary

Randstad NV partners with a premier financial services group in Sydney, seeking a Senior Payroll Officer on a temporary contract. You will lead complex pay-run activities, ensure compliance with Australian legislation, and advise the payroll and P&C teams to drive process improvements.

The role requires hands-on experience with SAP SuccessFactors and ADP (IdeallyGlobalView), strong stakeholder engagement, and meticulous data confidentiality in a large, multi‑award environment.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of Australian payroll processing experience in large organisations.
• In-depth knowledge of Australian payroll legislation and multi‑award interpretation.
• Experience with SAP SuccessFactors and ADP (IdeallyGlobalView).

Responsibilities

• Lead and execute high-priority, complex pay-run activities, including remuneration reviews and complex adjustments.
• Provide technical advisory and workflow support to payroll teams and resolve escalated queries.
• Maintain employee master data with confidentiality and manage weekly leaver reporting.
• Uphold strong payroll controls, segregation of duties, and peer review standards.
• Identify and implement process enhancements across HRIS and payroll platforms.
• Ensure payroll activities align with Fair Work, NES, and applicable Awards.

Senior Payroll Officer | Temporary Contract | Sydney (Hybrid)

We are partnering with one of Australia's premier, large-scale financial services groups. Operating a prominent national network with thousands of employees nationwide, they are known for their supportive, people-first workplace culture and commitment to operational excellence.

In this role, you will provide senior-level technical expertise across complex pay cycles, risk mitigation, and continuous process enhancements, working alongside a collaborative and highly supportive Payroll Manager and team.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and execute high-priority, complex pay-run activities, including annual remuneration reviews, executive adjustments, and complex redundancy processing.
• Provide technical advisory and workflow support to the broader payroll and P&C teams, resolving escalated queries with clarity and accuracy.
• Maintain employee master data with strict confidentiality, managing weekly leaver reporting and access compliance protocols to mitigate security and operational risks.
• Advocate for strong payroll controls, segregation of duties, and peer review standards to uphold risk maturity and prevent compliance discrepancies.
• Identify, test, and implement process enhancements and data-cleansing initiatives across core HRIS and payroll platforms.
• Ensure all payroll activities align strictly with Fair Work, NES guidelines, and applicable Enterprise Agreements and Modern Awards.

What we are looking for:

• Essential hands‑on proficiency in SAP SuccessFactors and ADP (IdeallyGlobalView).
• Minimum 4+ years of practical Australian payroll processing experience within large, complex organisations.
• In-depth knowledge of Australian payroll legislation, complex termination calculations and multi‑award/EBA interpretation.
• Prior experience with system migrations, testing, data analysis, or process automation is highly regarded.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, strong stakeholder engagement, and meticulous attention to detail.
