HR Advisor: Employee Relations, Onboarding & Payroll Support

Job summary

Careva is seeking an HR Advisor to provide generalist HR support across the group. You will advise on employee relations, performance and conduct matters, recruitment and onboarding, and payroll support through Employment Hero.

You will partner with the People & Culture Business Partner, work with managers across sites, and help shape compliant HR processes, systems and policies to enable growth across the group.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years' experience in an HR Advisor, HR Generalist or similar role.
• Strong knowledge of the Fair Work Act 2009 and National Employment Standards.
• Experience handling employee relations matters including performance management and misconduct.
• Experience using HR and payroll systems, preferably Employment Hero.
• Excellent written and verbal communication and ability to influence managers.
• Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.
• Strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Proficiency in MS Excel, Outlook and Word.
• Understanding of AI and Claude application.

Responsibilities

• Provide timely HR policy and workplace law advice to managers and employees.
• Manage low to medium complexity employee relations matters and escalate complex issues.
• Coach managers through probation reviews and disciplinary processes.
• Prepare HR documentation including letters and investigation reports.
• Support return-to-work and reasonable adjustments in consultation with managers.
• Oversee recruitment across the group from role design to offer.
• Ensure pre-employment and compliance checks are completed.
• Prepare and review employment contracts and letters of offer.
• Oversee onboarding and ensure mandatory training in Employment Hero.
• Support payroll accuracy by checking changes before processing.
