Job summary

Careva is seeking an HR Advisor to provide generalist HR support across the group. You will advise on employee relations, performance and conduct matters, recruitment and onboarding, and payroll support through Employment Hero.

You will partner with the People & Culture Business Partner, work with managers across sites, and help shape compliant HR processes, systems and policies to enable growth across the group.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years' experience in an HR Advisor, HR Generalist or similar role.
• Strong knowledge of the Fair Work Act 2009 and National Employment Standards.
• Experience handling employee relations matters including performance management and misconduct.
• Experience using HR and payroll systems, preferably Employment Hero.
• Excellent written and verbal communication and ability to influence managers.
• Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.
• Strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Proficiency in MS Excel, Outlook and Word.
• Understanding of AI and Claude application.

Responsibilities

Job description

The HR Advisor sits within the Careva Business Group and provides generalist HR advice and support across the Careva group. The role focuses on employee relations, performance and conduct matters, recruitment and onboarding, workforce compliance and HR support for payroll through Employment Hero. Reporting into the People & Culture Business Partner, this role will work closely with operational managers, the HR Advisor builds managers' capability, reduces people risk and helps the HR processes, systems and policies that support business growth keep improving.

Key responsibilities

Provide timely, practical advice to managers and employees on HR policies, employment conditions, modern awards and workplace legislation.

Manage low to medium complexity employee relations matters, including performance management, misconduct, grievances and workplace investigations, and escalating complex matters to the People & Culture Business Partner.

Coach managers through probation reviews, performance conversations, disciplinary processes and terminations.

Prepare HR documentation, including letters, file notes, investigation reports and outcome correspondence.

Support return to work and reasonable adjustment processes in consultation with managers and relevant parties.

Oversee the recruitment process across the group, from advising on role design and advertising through to selection and offer.

Make sure pre-employment and compliance checks are completed and current, including NDIS Worker Screening, WWCC, licences, qualifications and right-to-work checks.

Prepare and review employment contracts and letters of offer, making sure terms are compliant and consistent.

Oversee onboarding and induction processes so new employees are set up correctly in Employment Hero and complete mandatory training and policy acknowledgements.

Support accurate payroll through Employment Hero, including checking employment changes, pay rates and conditions before processing.

About you

At least 3 years' experience in an HR Advisor, HR Generalist or similar role.

Sound working knowledge of the Fair Work Act 2009, the National Employment Standards and modern award interpretation.

Demonstrated experience managing employee relations matters, including performance management and misconduct processes.

Experience using HR and payroll systems, preferably Employment Hero.

Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to give clear, practical advice and influence managers.

Sound judgement and the ability to handle sensitive and confidential matters appropriately.

Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities across multiple businesses.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Outlook and Word.

Understanding of AI and Claude application.
