Job summary

Department of Housing & Public Works QLD – Cairns QLD is seeking a Business Support Officer to back the Housing Service Centre. You will help deliver housing and homelessness services, coordinating operations, and supporting financial and HR processes to keep services running smoothly for the Queensland community.

You will provide effective financial, human resources and business support, liaising with staff and stakeholders, and driving continuous improvement in administrative services.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement and maintain administrative systems including assets, facilities, finance, HR, reporting and business processes.
• Ensure timely, accurate responses to information requests and compliance with policies and audits.
• Provide high quality advice and support to Area Manager on assets, facilities, finance and HR management.
• Offer training and guidance in administrative activities to staff.
• Liaise with internal and external customers and stakeholders to maintain relationships.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of administrative support services for timely service.
• Support workplace health and safety policies as part of day-to-day operations.
