Job summary

NSW Department of Communities and Justice – Wagga Wagga NSW is seeking a Client Service Officer for Housing Services in the Southern & Western District. You will engage with tenants, housing applicants and partner services to help deliver positive housing outcomes and support those experiencing homelessness or at risk of homelessness.

This temporary full-time role requires empathy, resilience and strong customer service.

Qualifications

• Empathy and resilience in client service.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Comfort engaging with diverse clients and using digital tools.

Responsibilities

• Visit tenants in their homes on a regular scheduled basis.
• Conduct property inspections and support tenants to maintain tenancies.
• Address rent arrears, property care concerns and tenancy obligations.
• Resolve anti-social behaviour concerns and neighbourhood issues.
• Assist clients at the counter, over the phone and in the community.
• Process and assess applications using relevant legislation and policies.
• Collaborate with Government and non-Government partners to support tenancy sustainment.
• Utilise iPads and online systems for client interactions and casework.
