Job summary

The Royal Automobile Club of WA Inc. is seeking a Home Assessor for RAC Insurance to join our Home Claims team on a full-time, permanent basis.

You will assess home and contents claims on site, ensuring cost-effective repairs and accurate settlements, while delivering excellent service to members. Reporting to the Team Manager Home Assessing, you will liaise with members, repairers and third parties, review reports, set reserves, and maintain updates in our claims system.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Home Assessor in Insurance is highly desirable.
• Loss Adjusting qualifications (Cert IV or Diploma) desirable.
• Knowledge of residential building codes and property repair industry.
• Strong customer service, negotiation and communication skills.
• Analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Current and unrestricted driver's license.
• Trade qualifications in building/construction desirable.

Responsibilities

• Assess and process a caseload of allocated home and contents claims promptly.
• Liaise with members, repairers, suppliers, claims staff and third parties to settle claims.
• Review assessment reports from external loss adjusters, repairers, engineers.
• Adjust settlements to fair outcomes and set accurate reserves.
• Inspect and audit repairs by service provider network.
• Identify risk information to underwriters and recovery opportunities.
• Conduct desktop reviews through to settlement and maintain updates in the system.
