Job summary

RAC WA is seeking a Claims Specialist to join our Insurance Claims team in Western Australia. The role involves managing an individual caseload of claims and coordinating recovery actions, from lodgement through finalisation.

You will review quotes, authorise repairs and negotiate settlements while acting as a technical referral point for internal teams. Strong communication, empathy and autonomy are essential for success in this hybrid, permanent/12-month role.

Qualifications

• Exceptional customer service and high attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and strong negotiation skills.
• Ability to gather, collate and present evidence to inform decisions.
• Ability to clearly explain complex processes to members.
• Results-oriented and self-driven with ability to work autonomously.
• Experience in lodgement and knowledge of end-to-end claims desirable.
• Experience in financial services is desirable.

Job description

Join the RAC Insurance Claims team and know you are making a genuine difference to the lives of our members! Our Claims Specialists are responsible for having telephone and online based conversations with our members when they need us most.

We have a full time position available on a Permanent basis and a 12month Contract/Secondment basis.

We offer attractive working hours which is structured as follows:

Week 1 – 7.30am – 3.30pm (West Perth Office based)

Week 2 – 9.00am – 5.00pm (Working from home)

On a daily basis you will be contributing by:

• Managing an individual caseload of claims through to finalisation
• Identify potential recovery action as part of effective claims management
• Review quotes and authorise repair costs
• Negotiate on settlements for claims
• Act as a technical referral point for internal teams
• Provide empathy, understanding whilst handling complex conversations
• Consistently provide service that exceeds member’s expectations
• Identify continuous improvement initiatives
