Job summary

Silverchain Group is seeking a Home Care Worker to support older community members in Ngunnawal and nearby suburbs. You will help with household tasks and provide companionship to enable clients to live independently at home for longer.

You must hold a valid Australian driver’s licence and have access to your own insured vehicle. Prior experience in community or aged care is preferred, with opportunities for funded training and career progression.

Qualifications

• Experience in community or aged care is preferred.
• Ability to work independently and manage daily tasks.
• Good communication with clients and their families.

Responsibilities

• General housekeeping, bed making, and home cleaning.
• Cleaning, mopping and vacuuming floors.
• Washing, folding and ironing laundry.
• Meal preparation and grocery shopping.
• Provide social support and transport to lifestyle activities.
• Support family carers by giving them a break.

• Don’t sweat the small stuff. Sometimes your client will be having a bad day or traffic delays you, but you know not to take this personally and can shake it off before your next client.
• Are comfortable working independently and finding solutions to everyday problems, knowing when to ask your manager for help.

In Addition, You Will Need

• A valid Australian Driver's Licence & your own insured, roadworthy vehicle
• An interest in community care or aged care (3 - 6 months previous experience in a similar role).
