Job summary

Silverchain in Bowral (NSW) is seeking a Home Care Worker to assist older adults at home, delivering housekeeping, meal prep, laundry, and personal care. You will support clients to live independently, coordinate transport, and contribute to their wellbeing.

The role requires a valid Australian driver’s licence and access to a vehicle, with 3–6 months’ experience in community/aged care. CPR/First Aid training is paid for, and there are employee benefits and salary packaging options.

It takes a special person to be a Home Care Worker and help the older members of our community to maintain their home and enhance their wellbeing. We are looking for just that person to join the Silverchain team in Bowral and surrounding suburbs.

• Are comfortable working independently and finding solutions to everyday problems, knowing when to ask your manager for help.

In addition, you will need:

• A valid Australian Driver's Licence & your own insured, roadworthy vehicle
• An interest in community care or aged care (3 - 6 months previous experience in a similar role).

The role

In the role of Home Care Worker you will be providing our aged care clients with home help services, such as:

• General housekeeping and making beds
• Cleaning, mopping and vacuuming floors
• Washing, folding and ironing laundry
• Meal preparation and grocery shopping
• Providing personal care support
• Providing social support and transport to lifestyle activities
• Helping the family carer to have a break or an opportunity to do other things.
