Job summary

Silverchain in Ngunnawal and surrounding suburbs is seeking a Home Care Worker to help older clients remain independent at home. You will provide practical home help, transport for activities and social support, with a focus on compassionate, safe care.

Applicants should have 3–6 months in aged care, a current Australian driver’s licence and an insured vehicle; training opportunities, including Cert III, are supported.

Qualifications

• Experience in community care or aged care preferred (3–6 months).
• Valid Australian driver’s licence and your own insured, roadworthy vehicle.
• Ability to work independently and manage daily tasks.
• Commitment to providing high-quality, compassionate home care.

It takes a special person to be a Home Care Worker and help the older members of our community to maintain their home and enhance their wellbeing. We are looking for just that person to join the Silverchain team inNgunnawaland surrounding suburbs.

• Don’t sweat the small stuff. Sometimes your client will be having a bad day or traffic delays you, but you know not to take this personally and can shake it off before your next client.
• Are comfortable working independently and finding solutions to everyday problems, knowing when to ask your manager for help.

In addition, you will need:

• A valid Australian Driver's Licence & your own insured, roadworthy vehicle
• An interest in community care or aged care (3 - 6 months previous experience in a similar role).

The role

In the role of Home Care Worker you will be providing our aged care clients with home help services, such as:
