Job summary

Silverchain is seeking Home Care Workers to support ageing Australians at home across New South Wales. You will provide practical home help and social support, visiting clients in their homes with a friendly, person-centred approach.

This role offers award-rate pay, superannuation, and opportunities for paid professional development. You’ll need a valid Australian driver’s licence, your own insured vehicle, and 3–6 months’ experience in a similar role or a strong interest in community care.

Qualifications

• Interest in community care or aged care (3–6 months in a similar role).
• Valid Australian Driver's Licence and own insured, roadworthy vehicle.
• Accredited qualifications or willingness to complete Cert III.

Responsibilities

• Housekeeping, making beds, cleaning and floor care.
• Washing, folding and ironing laundry; meal prep and shopping.
• Provide social support and transport to activities; support the family carer.

In addition, you will need:

• A valid Australian Driver's Licence & your own insured, roadworthy vehicle
• An interest in community care or aged care (3 - 6 months previous experience in a similar role).

The role

In the role of Home Care Worker you will be providing our aged care clients with home help services, such as:

• General housekeeping and making beds
• Cleaning, mopping and vacuuming floors
• Washing, folding and ironing laundry
• Meal preparation and grocery shopping
• Providing social support and transport to lifestyle activities
• Helping the family carer to have a break or an opportunity to do other things.
