Job summary

Silverchain is seeking a Cert III qualified Care Worker to join our team in Blacktown and surrounding areas. The role involves home-based aged care support, including personal care, housekeeping, and transport to appointments.

We offer an award rate of $36.23 per hour plus Super and paid kilometres, plus benefits like paid CPR and First Aid courses. Applicants must have 6+ months experience and a valid Australian driver's licence with their own vehicle.

Qualifications

• Certificate III or above in Aged Care or Individual Support or Disability.
• Experience of 6 months or more in a similar role.
• A valid Australian Driver's Licence & your own insured, roadworthy vehicle.
• Experience with personal care, manual handling, hoist training and medications.

Responsibilities

• Provide home help services: housekeeping, cleaning, laundry, meal planning and grocery shopping.
• Deliver personal care: assist getting clients out of bed, showered and dressed, assist with medications, mobility and therapy goals.
• Support clients with high care needs (e.g., dementia) and provide social and emotional support.
• Transport clients to lifestyle activities or appointments; support family carers by giving them a break.

We are looking for a Cert III qualified person with at least 6 months experience in a similar role, to join the Silverchain team in Blacktown and surrounding areas.

In addition, you will need:

• A valid Australian Driver's Licence & your own insured, roadworthy vehicle

The role

In the role of Care Worker you will be providing our aged care clients with home help services such as:

• General housekeeping and making beds
• Cleaning, mopping and vacuuming floors
• Washing, folding and ironing laundry
• Meal preparation and grocery shopping.
• You will also be providing our aged care clients with personal care services such as:
• Getting clients out of bed, showered and dressed for the day
• Assisting clients to take their medications
• Assisting with mobility and therapy goals
• Providing complex care for customers with high care needs, such as dementia
• Providing social and emotional support
• Providing the client with transport to lifestyle activities or appointments
• Helping the family carer to have a break or an opportunity to do other things.
