Silverchain is seeking compassionate Care Workers to help older members maintain independence and wellbeing in Croydon and surrounding areas. Applicants should have at least 3 months of experience in a similar role, hold a valid Australian driver’s licence and own insured vehicle.

The role focuses on providing home help and personal care, including housekeeping, meal prep, medication assistance, mobility support, and transport to activities or appointments.

Responsabilidades

• Provide general housekeeping and domestic duties: making beds, cleaning, mopping, vacuuming, laundry, and meal prep.
• Provide personal care such as assisting with getting in/out of bed, showering and dressing, and support with medications.
• Support mobility and therapy goals, transport clients to activities or appointments, and provide social and emotional support.
• Manage client needs with independence and safety in mind, escalating to a supervisor as required.

What we’re looking for

We are looking for people who:

• Enjoy having variety in their day.
• Are passionate about providing an excellent service.
• Can build positive relationships with clients and their families.
• Don’t sweat the small stuff. Sometimes your client will be having a bad day or traffic delays you, but you know not to take this personally and can shake it off before your next client.
• Are comfortable working independently and finding solutions to everyday problems, knowing when to ask your manager for help.

In addition, you will need:

• A valid Australian Driver's Licence & your own insured, roadworthy vehicle
• Experience of 3 months or more in a similar professional role, with experience in with personal care, manual handling, hoist training and medications.

The role

In the role of Care Worker you will be providing our aged care clients with home help services such as:

• General housekeeping and making beds
• Cleaning, mopping and vacuuming floors
• Washing, folding and ironing laundry
• Meal preparation and grocery shopping.

You will also be providing our aged care clients with personal care services such as:

• Getting clients out of bed, showered and dressed for the day
• Assisting clients to take their medications
• Assisting with mobility and therapy goals
• Providing complex care for customers with high care needs, such as dementia
• Providing social and emotional support
• Providing the client with transport to lifestyle activities or appointments
• Helping the family carer to have a break or an opportunity to do other things.
