Job summary

Silverchain is seeking a Care Worker in Mitcham, SA to support older adults at home with daily tasks, personal care and mobility assistance.

You will receive training, access accelerated learning for Cert III, and benefits including salary packaging and paid CPR/First Aid courses. A valid driver’s licence and own vehicle are required, with the role offering local shifts in the Mitcham area.

Qualifications

• Certificate III or above in Aged Care or Individual Support is required.
• A valid Australian Driver's Licence and own insured vehicle are required.
• Willingness to complete further training and qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Provide general home help: housekeeping, meals, laundry and shopping.
• Deliver personal care: mobility, medications support, and daily routines.

What we're looking for

We welcome applicants at all experience levels ($34.42 p/hr):

• New to Aged Care – Full training and support provided.
• Advanced/Qualified – Relevant qualifications and strong capability will attract a higher hourly rate.

In addition, you will need:

• A valid Australian Driver's Licence & your own insured, roadworthy vehicle
• Certificate III or above in Aged Care or Individual Support (dependant)

The role

In the role of Care Worker you will be providing our aged care clients with home help services such as:

• General housekeeping and making beds
• Cleaning, mopping and vacuuming floors
• Washing, folding and ironing laundry
• Meal preparation and grocery shopping.

You will also be providing our aged care clients with personal care services such as:

• Getting clients out of bed, showered and dressed for the day
• Assisting clients to take their medications
• Assisting with mobility and therapy goals
• Providing complex care for customers with high care needs, such as dementia
• Providing social and emotional support
• Providing the client with transport to lifestyle activities or appointments
• Helping the family carer to have a break or an opportunity to do other things.
