Job summary

Silverchain is seeking a Home Care Worker in the Springwood area to help older community members remain living in their homes with dignity and support.

You will earn an award rate of $43.03 per hour plus superannuation and paid kilometres, with access to accelerated learning for qualifications (Cert 3) and CPR/First Aid courses.

Qualifications

• A valid Australian Driver's Licence and your own insured, roadworthy vehicle.
• Strong interest in community/aged care.
• Experience in aged/disability care is a plus but not required.
• Ability to work independently and manage daily tasks.

Responsibilities

• Provide home help services to aged care clients.
• General housekeeping, cleaning, mopping and vacuuming.
• Meal preparation, grocery shopping and laundry.
• Provide social support and transport to lifestyle activities.
• Support family carers by giving them a break when needed.

• Don’t sweat the small stuff. Sometimes your client will be having a bad day or traffic delays you, but you know not to take this personally and can shake it off before your next client.
• Are comfortable working independently and finding solutions to everyday problems, knowing when to ask your manager for help.

In addition, you will need:

• A valid Australian Driver's Licence & your own insured, roadworthy vehicle
• An interest in community care or aged care (experience preferred but not essential).

The role

In the role of Home Care Worker you will be providing our aged care clients with home help services, such as:

• General housekeeping and making beds
• Cleaning, mopping and vacuuming floors
• Washing, folding and ironing laundry
• Meal preparation and grocery shopping
• Providing social support and transport to lifestyle activities
• Helping the family carer to have a break or an opportunity to do other things.
