Job summary

Silverchain Group is seeking a Care Worker to support elderly clients in Parramatta and surrounding areas with home care services, including domestic tasks and personal care.

The role requires a valid Australian driver's license and a proactive, independent approach. Benefits include guaranteed hours, and an employee benefits program with salary packaging up to 18,550 AUD tax-free each year, plus CPR/First Aid training.

Qualifications

• At least 3 months experience in a similar professional role.
• Valid Australian Driver's Licence & own insured vehicle.
• Experience with personal care, manual handling, hoist training and medications.

Responsibilities

• Provide home help services: housekeeping, bed making, cleaning, laundry, meal prep and grocery shopping.
• Provide personal care: assist with getting clients out of bed, showered and dressed, med reminders and mobility support.
• Support clients and families, transport to activities, and aid with social and emotional needs.

We are looking for a person with at least 3 months experience in a similar professional role, to join the Silverchain team in the Parramatta and surrounding areas.

• Don’t sweat the small stuff. Sometimes your client will be having a bad day or traffic delays you, but you know not to take this personally and can shake it off before your next client.
• Are comfortable working independently and finding solutions to everyday problems, knowing when to ask your manager for help.

In Addition, You Will Need

• A valid Australian Driver's Licence & your own insured, roadworthy vehicle
• Experience of 3 months or more in a similar professional role, with experience in with personal care, manual handling, hoist training and medications.

The role

In the role of Care Worker you will be providing our aged care clients with home help services such as:

• General housekeeping and making beds
• Cleaning, mopping and vacuuming floors
• Washing, folding and ironing laundry
• Meal preparation and grocery shopping.

You will also be providing our aged care clients with personal care services such as:

• Getting clients out of bed, showered and dressed for the day
• Assisting clients to take their medications
• Assisting with mobility and therapy goals
• Providing complex care for customers with high care needs, such as dementia
• Providing social and emotional support
• Providing the client with transport to lifestyle activities or appointments
• Helping the family carer to have a break or an opportunity to do other things.
