Job summary

Silverchain Group is seeking a Home Care Worker in Penrith and surrounding suburbs to assist aged clients with home care needs. The role involves domestic tasks, personal care and social support to enhance independence.

You’ll need a valid Australian driver’s licence, own insured vehicle, and 3–6 months experience in community or aged care to join our dedicated team delivering compassionate, high-quality care at home.

Qualifications

• A valid Australian Driver's Licence and your own insured vehicle.
• Interest in community/aged care (3–6 months experience).
• Ability to work independently and solve problems.
• Willingness to travel across Penrith and surrounding suburbs.

Responsibilities

• Provide general housekeeping, bed making and cleaning.
• Handle laundry, ironing and meal preparation.
• Deliver personal care and social support to clients.
• Provide transport and accompany clients to activities and appointments.
• Support family carers and help them take a break.

Job description

It takes a special person to be a Home Care Worker and help the older members of our community to maintain their home and enhance their wellbeing. We are looking for just that person to join the Silverchain team in Penrith and surrounding suburbs.

• Care about assisting our aged community members to live independently at home for longer.
• Don’t sweat the small stuff. Sometimes your client will be having a bad day or traffic delays you, but you know not to take this personally and can shake it off before your next client.
• Are comfortable working independently and finding solutions to everyday problems, knowing when to ask your manager for help.

In addition, you will need:

• A valid Australian Driver's Licence & your own insured, roadworthy vehicle
• An interest in community care or aged care (3 - 6 months previous experience in a similar role).

The role

In the role of Home Care Worker you will be providing our aged care clients with home help services, such as:

• General housekeeping and making beds
• Cleaning, mopping and vacuuming floors
• Washing, folding and ironing laundry
• Meal preparation and grocery shopping
• Personal Care
• Providing social support and transport to lifestyle activities
• Helping the family carer to have a break or an opportunity to do other things.
