Job summary

Australian Unity is seeking compassionate carers to support older Australians (65+) at home in Mullumbimby and surrounding communities. This role offers permanent part-time contracts, 20–50 hours per fortnight, with shifts 7am–6pm and occasional weekends for experienced carers.

You will perform domestic tasks, personal care, medication assistance where trained, and provide social support and companionship. A current Australian driver's licence with your own car is required, along with completion

Qualifications

• Live in Mullumbimby area or surrounding communities.
• Current Australian Driver's Licence with own car.
• Available to work at least 6 hours a day between 7am–6pm, Monday–Friday.
• Completion of the Brilliant @ Basics Training.
• Open to entry level and experienced candidates.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality, person-centred care to older Australians in their homes.
• Domestic tasks: cleaning, laundry and meal preparation.
• Personal care: showering, grooming, toileting and mobility support.
• Medication assistance where trained.
• Social support, transport and companionship.
• Promote independence, dignity and wellbeing.

About You

• Live across the Mullumbimby area including Billinudgel, Brunswick Heads, Crabbes Creek, Ewingsdale, Main Arm, Mooball, Myocum, New Brighton, Ocean Shores, South Golden Beach, Wilsons Creek and surrounding communities.
• Hold a current Australian Drivers' Licence with your own car (no international license's or shared vehicles)
• Available to work a minimum of 6 hours a day between 7am to 6pm, Monday to Friday (some weekend rosters available for experienced carers)
• Commitment to our paid 2-week Brilliant @ Basics Training when you start!
• Open to Entry Level & Experienced candidates

What We Offer

• $32.61 - $36.59 per hour + 12% super + $0.92/km allowance + paid travel time
• Permanent Part-time contracts: 20-50 hours per fortnight + flex up shifts
• Permanent Part-Time opportunities for experienced candidates; Casual entry-level roles available with the potential to transition to Permanent Part-Time employment
