Job summary

Australian Unity is seeking compassionate in-home care workers to support older Australians across the Maryborough to Hervey Bay area. No formal qualifications required and a fully paid 2-week Brilliant @ Basics Training Program will be provided, with shifts of at least 6 hours across 3-4 weekdays (weekend opportunities available).

You will deliver personalised in-home support, including domestic tasks, meal prep, companionship, and personal care following training.

Qualifications

• No formal qualifications required; training provided.
• In-home care across Maryborough to Hervey Bay area.
• Must hold a current Australian Driver's Licence and access to insured care vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Provide domestic assistance, cleaning and laundry.
• Meal preparation and everyday household support.
• Social support and companionship.
• Personal care assistance after training; medication assistance where applicable.
• Promote independence, dignity and wellbeing for clients.

Job description

Make a real difference in the lives of older Australians. No formal qualifications required and welcome people looking to start a career in care or experienced Care Workers.

We're looking for compassionate, reliable people to join our supportive team delivering in-home care services to older Australians (65+) across Maryborough to Hervey Bay area.

About You

You:

• Live in or can drive around the Maryborough and/or Hervey Bay area.
• Hold a current Australian Driver's Licence and have access to a comprehensively insured care (no international licences or shared vehicles)
• Have a genuine passion for helping older people remain independent in their own homes
• Can work a minimum of 6 hours per day between 8am and 6pm across 3-4 weekdays (some weekend opportunities also available)
• Commit to completing our fully paid 2-week Brilliant @ Basics Training Program - Tuesday to Friday for the first 2 weeks

You may come from a background in:

• Cleaning or domestic services
• Aged care, disability support or healthcare
• Hospital support services or patient support roles
• Caring for a family member or loved one
• Studying a Cert III in Individual Support (Ageing or Disability) or a related course
• Hospitality or customer service

What You'll Do

You'll provide personalised support that helps customers continue living safely and independently at home, including:

• Domestic assistance, cleaning and laundry
• Meal preparation and everyday household support
• Social support and companionship
• Personal care assistance (following training and based on your skills)
• Medication assistance (where applicable)
• Promoting independence, dignity and wellbeing

• Casual Contract for new entrant in the Maryborough area
• Permanent Part-Time contract for experience care worker in the Hervey Bay area
• $34.80 - $36.59 per hour + super + 25% casual loading (for casual contracts)
