Job summary

Australian Unity is hiring in-home carers to support older Australians in Glen Iris, Burwood, Camberwell, Balwyn and surrounding areas. You will provide personal care, medication help where applicable, and domestic support, delivering compassionate, person-centred care.

You'll hold a relevant qualification, have 12+ months of care experience, and a valid driver’s licence with a insured car. Permanent part-time contracts offer stable hours and paid leave entitlements.

Qualifications

• Minimum 12 months of experience delivering personal care in aged care, disability, or hospital environments.
• Australian Driver’s Licence and own comprehensively insured car.
• Available to work a minimum of 6 hours per day within 8am–6pm across 3–4 weekdays.
• Brilliant @ Basics Training for new staff.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality, person-centred care to older Australians in their homes.
• Assist with personal care: showering, grooming, toileting and mobility support.
• Assist with medication where applicable.
• Provide domestic support: cleaning, laundry and meal preparation.
• Offer social support and companionship and promote independence and wellbeing.

About You

• Live in and can support our customers in Glen Iris, Burwood, Camberwell, Balwyn and surrounding areas
• Hold an Australian Driver’s Licence and own comprehensively insured car (no international licence/shared vehicles)
• Minimum 12 months of experience delivering personal care in aged care, disability, or hospital environments and/or completed a qualification in Aged Care, Disability or Home and Community Care
• Available to work a minimum of 6 hours per day within the hours of 8am - 6pm, ideally across 3–4 weekdays (some weekend rosters available)
• Commitment to our paid 2-week Brilliant @ Basics Training when you start
• Passionate about working in in-home care, with a focus on aged care

What We Offer

• $36.42 - $36.59 p/h + super
• Paid travel time + $1.33/km allowance + company phone
• Permanent part-time contracts: 30 - 50 hours per fortnight
• Stable hours with the opportunity to pick up additional shifts

Your Role

As a valued member of the team, you’ll deliver high-quality, person-centred care to older Australians in their homes.
