Job summary

UnitingCare Queensland is seeking a dedicated Child and Family Practitioner to deliver services within the Family Intervention Service in Cairns. This permanent, full-time role (38 hours per week) focuses on high-quality support for vulnerable children, young people and families, including home-based interventions and case management.

It offers a competitive hourly remuneration and not-for-profit salary packaging options.

Qualifications

• A tertiary qualification (minimum of a bachelor’s degree) in a relevant human services field.
• Registration with a nationally recognised professional body is desirable where relevant.
• Experience in working with children and families.

Responsibilities

• Provide services to vulnerable children, young people, and families within the Family Intervention Service (FIS).
• Deliver high-quality, best-practice services.
• Provide intensive support to help children and young people safely reunify with their families; support parents under an Intervention with Parental Agreement.
• Home-based intervention with case management and therapeutic intervention responsibilities.
