Job summary

UnitingCare Queensland's FaDS team in Cairns is seeking a Child and Family Practitioner to deliver high-quality services within the Family Intervention Service. This home-based role provides intensive support to children, young people and families involved with child protection, including reunification work after out-of-home care.

You will hold a relevant degree, complete checks and hold a current driver's licence, and you will work in a supportive, inclusive environment with flexible

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant human services field and relevant experience.
• Registration with a nationally recognised professional body is desirable where relevant.
• Experience working with children and families in child protection preferred, but not essential.
• Current drivers licence and Working with Children Check (Blue Card) required.

Responsibilities

• Provide holistic, therapeutic responses to families involved in child protection.
• Provide intensive support to reunify children with families after out-of-home care.
• Deliver home-based interventions with case management duties and therapeutic skills.
• Maintain high-quality, best-practice services.
