Job summary

UnitingCare Queensland is seeking a Child and Family Practitioner to join the Family Intervention Service in Cairns. This permanent, full-time role focuses on delivering high-quality, best-practice services to vulnerable children, young people and families within the child protection system.

You will provide intensive support to reunify families, work with parents under an Intervention with Parental Agreement, and perform home-based case management and therapeutic work.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant human services field.
• Registration with a nationally recognised professional body is desirable where relevant.
• Experience working with children and families is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide services to vulnerable children, young people and families within the Family Intervention Service, delivering high-quality, best-practice services.
• Provide intensive support to help children and young people safely reunify with their families after out-of-home care, or work with parents under an Intervention with Parental Agreement.
• This is a home-based intervention role and includes case management responsibilities as well as therapeutic intervention skills.
