Job summary

UnitingCare Queensland is hiring a Child and Family Practitioner for the Family Intervention Service in Cairns. The role is permanent, full-time (38 hours/week) with a starting hourly rate of $53.43 plus Super and NFP salary packaging, reflecting a not-for-profit workplace.

You will provide holistic, therapeutic support to vulnerable children and families, with intensive services focused on reunification after care or parental interventions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant human services field.
• Registration with a nationally recognised professional body is desirable.
• Experience working with children and families.
• Current Driver's Licence.
• Working with Children Check (Blue Card).

Responsibilities

• Provide a holistic and therapeutic response to the needs of families and individuals within the child protection system.
• Deliver intensive support to help children and young people reunify with their families after out-of-home care.
• Perform case management and deliver therapeutic interventions in a home-based setting.
