Job summary

Rex J Andrews Pty Limited, a family-owned transport company, seeks an experienced Heavy Haulage Transport Allocator to manage daily planning, truck allocations, and run scheduling. You will coordinate with drivers, customers and internal stakeholders, maintaining run sheets and delivery schedules to ensure timely, compliant deliveries.

Responsibilities include ensuring safety standards and COR compliance, booking escorts for OSOM loads, and planning loads per customer requirements.

Qualifications

• Experience in heavy haulage transport scheduling or coordination.
• Strong organisational and detail-oriented abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Knowledge of COR, fatigue and mass monitoring requirements.
• Experience booking escorts for OSOM loads.
• Extensive knowledge of load configurations and weights.
• Safety and Compliance knowledge is essential.

Job description

Rex J Andrews Pty Limited is a family-owned and operated specialised transport company established in 1989.

RJA is seeking an experienced Heavy Haulage Transport Allocator to join our team and efficiently manage the daily planning, allocation of trucks, and scheduling of runs.

Responsibilities

Communicate effectively with drivers, customers, and internal stakeholders, providing clear instructions and fostering positive relationships.

Ensure regular communication with customers regarding scheduled deliveries and any changes that may impact them.

Maintain accurate documentation related to run sheets, delivery schedules, and compliance requirements.

Facilitate the retrieval and imaging of all Proof of Delivery (POD) documentation.

Participate in and always commit to Safety Standards and Chain of Responsibility (COR) requirements.

Coordinate vehicle assignments to drivers, considering availability, distance, suitability, and urgency.

Monitor and track the movement of vehicles to ensure efficient utilisation.

Monitor compliance with fatigue, mass, and maintenance requirements.

Plan and build loads according to customer requirements.

Engage in equipment and resource planning.

Skills & Experience

Prior experience in a heavy haulage transport scheduling or coordinator role preferred.

Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.

Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.

Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing situations quickly.

Experience in booking escorts for OSOM loads

Detailed knowledge of load configurations, weights, and allocation preferred.

Extensive knowledge of Safety and Compliance is essential.

Knowledge of fatigue and mass monitoring in accordance with legislative requirements.

Understanding of the Chain of Responsibility.

Professional presentation with a friendly and helpful approach.

Ability to manage time effectively, meet deadlines, and ensure the quality of work.
