Job summary

Position Summary

Parratech is seeking an organised and detail-oriented Heavy Haulage Logistics Coordinator to lead the scheduling, planning and regulatory coordination of our oversize and over-mass (OSOM) transport operations. As the central link between clients, transport providers, drivers, pilot escorts and regulatory authorities, you will ensure every specialised movement is planned and executed safely, compliantly and efficiently. Success in this role requires sound knowledge of heavy vehicle compliance, permit applications and route planning.

The role coordinates deliveries between Parratech’s four manufacturing sites in New South Wales and customer sites throughout Australia.

Key Responsibilities

• Safety and compliance: Champion safe heavy-haulage practices and ensure compliance with all relevant legal, regulatory and company requirements to minimise risk to Parratech employees, client personnel and the public.
• Permit management: Manage end-to-end OSOM permit applications through the National Heavy Vehicle Regulator (NHVR) Portal. Interpret route restrictions and operating conditions, and advise project managers on achievable delivery schedules.
• Route planning: Conduct detailed route assessments, including reviews of state and local council restrictions, to identify safe and compliant routes for oversized assets.
• Third-party coordination: Build strong relationships with transport contractors to secure vehicle availability and provide accurate delivery updates. Coordinate all required parties, including police escorts, pilot vehicles and utility providers for overhead-clearance requirements.
• Driver scheduling: Allocate specialised vehicles and drivers while monitoring fatigue-management and Chain of Responsibility (CoR) obligations. Work with factory teams to manage turnaround times and delays that may affect driver fatigue.
• Load restraint: Apply knowledge of load-restraint requirements across different load types and clearly communicate specific requirements to transport providers.
• Stakeholder communication: Provide accurate transport estimates, project timelines and in-transit updates to clients and internal stakeholders.
• Issue resolution: Respond promptly to route delays, vehicle breakdowns, permit issues and other disruptions to minimise operational downtime.
• Internal support: Serve as the primary point of contact and subject-matter expert for site and factory teams regarding transport availability, capacity and operational requirements.

Skills & Experience

• Demonstrated experience in heavy haulage, specialised transport or over-dimensional logistics coordination.
• Strong working knowledge of the Heavy Vehicle National Law (HVNL), road authority requirements and OSOM permit frameworks.
• Ability to interpret maps, load dimensions and technical drawings to assess route feasibility.
• Excellent planning and prioritisation skills, with the ability to manage multiple transport movements, changing variables and tight deadlines.
• Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to maintain productive internal and external relationships through project changes, delays and priority deliveries.
• Strong negotiation and liaison skills when working with transport providers, drivers, clients and government authorities.
• Proficiency in transport management systems (TMS), GPS tracking software and route-planning tools.
