Job summary

Traralgon College in Victoria is seeking a skilled classroom teacher to contribute to high quality teaching across year levels. You will plan, prepare and deliver engaging programs aligned with the curriculum, with emphasis on literacy and numeracy and meeting diverse student needs.

Range 1 or Range 2 classification supports ongoing professional learning, mentoring and collaboration with staff, parents and the wider school community to improve student outcomes and wellbeing.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated knowledge of the relevant curriculum and ability to incorporate literacy and numeracy.
• Experience planning high-impact teaching strategies and evaluating their impact on student learning.
• Experience monitoring and assessing student learning and using data to inform teaching.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with ability to collaborate with students, parents, colleagues and the broader school community.
• Commitment to Department values and ongoing professional learning.

Responsibilities

• Direct teaching of groups of students and individual students.
• Contribute to development, implementation and evaluation of a curriculum area or other curriculum program within the school.
• Undertaking other classroom teaching related and organisational duties as determined by the School Principal.
• Participating in activities such as parent/teacher meetings; staff meetings; camps and excursions.
• Undertaking other non-teaching supervisory duties.
