Job summary

Hastings People is recruiting for a Director of Rooms at a premier NSW coastal hotel. The role reports to the General Manager and leads Front Office, Housekeeping, Reservations, VIP Services, Health Club and Engineering to deliver exceptional guest experiences.

You will mentor departmental managers, manage budgets and drive continuous improvement, combining hands-on leadership with strategic thinking in a premium full-service environment.

Qualifications

• Significant senior leadership experience within a full-service hotel.
• Experience as Director of Rooms or in a comparable executive operational position.
• Strong understanding of Front Office, Housekeeping, Reservations and guest services.
• Strong commercial and financial acumen, including budget management and labour optimisation.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management and people leadership capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor and develop departmental managers, driving accountability and service excellence.
• Oversee Rooms Division operations across Front Office, Housekeeping, Reservations, VIP Services, Health Club and Engineering.
• Manage departmental budgets, labour productivity and operational performance.
• Maintain high standards of property presentation, asset management and compliance with brand requirements.
• Partner with the General Manager to implement strategic initiatives and drive continuous improvement.
