Job summary

Hastings People in NSW is seeking a General Manager for a prominent coastal hospitality destination in Port Stephens. You will lead a large, diverse team across multiple venues, ensuring exceptional guest experiences while driving commercial performance.

This hands-on role requires a commercially astute operator who can balance service standards, cost control and growth across restaurants, bars, entertainment and events. You will mentor senior leaders and build an engaged, accountable team.

Qualifications

• Significant General Manager or senior operational leadership experience within large-format hotels, hospitality precincts, resorts or comparable multi-outlet businesses.
• Strong financial acumen, including full P&L accountability, budgeting, forecasting, labour productivity and revenue management.
• A demonstrated ability to lead large, diverse teams through experienced department heads and operational managers.
• Excellent commercial judgement, organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities within a seasonal, high-volume trading environment.
• A genuine passion for hospitality, a hands-on leadership style and the ability to build an engaged, accountable and service-focused culture.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic and operational leadership across multiple restaurants, bars, entertainment and event spaces, ensuring consistency and excellence throughout the business.
• Drive financial performance through effective budgeting, labour management, revenue optimisation and strong cost control.
• Lead, mentor and develop a large management team, creating a high-performance culture built on accountability, collaboration and professional development.
• Oversee operational standards, guest experience, compliance and risk management across a complex, high-volume hospitality environment.
• Identify commercial opportunities and implement initiatives that strengthen market positioning, increase profitability and support long-term business growth.
