Job summary

Emerald City Hotels Administration Pty Ltd – Mosman NSW is seeking an experienced Head Housekeeper / Housekeeping Supervisor to lead the day-to-day housekeeping operations at The Albert Hotel in Mosman. You will work closely with the Hotel Manager and Front Desk to uphold high cleanliness and presentation standards, while actively participating in daily duties.

Ideal candidates have prior supervisory experience in boutique hotels, strong roster management, and a hands-on approach to cleaning,

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Housekeeping Supervisor, Head Housekeeper or senior hotel housekeeper.
• Experience recruiting, training and supervising housekeeping staff, including managing performance and maintaining service standards.
• Strong hotel room cleaning, presentation and quality control skills.
• Experience preparing rosters and coordinating daily workloads.
• Good organisational, communication and problem‑solving abilities.
• Ability to work independently and adapt to changing priorities.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, interview, induct, train and supervise housekeeping staff in consultation with Hotel Manager.
• Prepare housekeeping rosters and daily room allocations according to occupancy.
• Oversee cleaning and presentation of guest rooms, public areas, terrace, dining room and kitchen.
• Inspect rooms for cleanliness and readiness for guests.
• Coordinate with Front Desk to prioritise room preparation and communicate availability.
• Monitor stock, cleaning supplies and equipment, including ordering.
• Maintain cleaning schedules, procedures and QA checklists.
• Identify and report maintenance issues to Hotel Manager and follow up on resolutions.
• Ensure safe handling and storage of cleaning chemicals.
• Maintain efficient staffing and housekeeping practices without compromising standards.
