Job summary

SIRROM is seeking an experienced Head Chef to lead and manage kitchen operations in remote village sites across Western Australia. The role focuses on delivering high-quality meals, supervising a busy team and maintaining food safety and budget standards.

Ideal candidates have at least 2 years of experience in remote mine-site villages, with a proven track record in high-volume bulk catering and strong leadership skills.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years' experience in remote mine-site villages or workforce camps.
• Proven experience managing high-volume bulk catering operations.
• Sound understanding of food costing, budgeting, ordering and stock management.
• Experience managing food safety compliance and kitchen hygiene standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead, supervise and support the kitchen team to maintain high standards of food preparation and service.
• Oversee daily breakfast, crib lunch, dinner and dessert services.
• Manage high-volume bulk catering, including buffet and bistro-style service.
• Ensure meals are prepared and presented in accordance with SIRROM standards, approved menus and client requirements.
• Manage food costs, ordering, stock control and inventory to meet budget requirements.
• Monitor portion control, food wastage and kitchen efficiencies.
• Coordinate kitchen workloads, staff allocation and daily operations.
• Ensure compliance with food safety, HACCP, health and hygiene requirements.
• Maintain accurate kitchen records, food safety documentation and operational reporting.
• Provide training, mentoring and ongoing support to kitchen staff.
• Work closely with Village Management to maintain service standards and address operational requirements.
• Take ownership of kitchen performance, presentation and overall service delivery.
