Job summary

Avoca Beach Hotel is seeking an experienced Duty Manager to lead the front-of-house team in a hands-on, guest-focused environment. You will drive daily operations across the Sports Bar, Bistro, Gaming Facilities and Bottleshop, ensuring warm service, smooth opening/closing, and strong communication with Kitchen and Owners.

You will manage reservations and staff scheduling, handle guest feedback, and uphold safety and service standards with RSA and RCG credentials essential.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Duty Manager or equivalent with opening/closing responsibilities and sole charge of a small FOH team.
• Exceptional customer service with warmth and attention to detail.
• Ability to stay calm under pressure and guide the team during busy periods.
• Willingness to get involved wherever needed and to work evenings, weekends and public holidays.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily operations of the Sports Bar, Bistro, Gaming Facilities and Bottleshop.
• Oversee opening/closing procedures, venue presentation and service preparation.
• Direct front-of-house team in service standards and product knowledge.
• Coordinate reservations, bistro setup and guest requests.
• Complete daily cash and gaming reconciliations.
• Maintain communication with kitchen for smooth service flow.
• Handle guest feedback professionally and resolve issues calmly.
• Uphold food safety, responsible service of alcohol and workplace safety.
