Job summary

Blackwoods is seeking a hands-on Assistant Store Manager in Canberra to support the Store Manager and lead a high-performing retail team. You will drive sales growth, coach staff, and ensure a safe, engaging workplace while delivering exceptional customer experiences.

This role involves weekend roster flexibility, stock and merchandising oversight, and stepping in as Store Manager when required. You’ll contribute to a positive culture, training, and achieving key KPIs across the store.

Qualifications

• Proven retail leadership experience as ASM/Team Leader.
• Strong people leadership and performance coaching.
• Track record of achieving sales targets and KPIs.
• Customer-first mindset with relationship-building.

Responsibilities

• Drive sales, gross profit and store performance to targets.
• Lead, coach and develop team to deliver service and results.
• Build strong customer relationships and outstanding experience.
• Support recruitment, onboarding, training and performance management.
• Ensure WHS and company policies compliance.
• Oversee day-to-day operations including stock and merchandising; act as Store Manager when required.
