Job summary

Guzman Y Gomez is seeking a Shift Leader to deliver pleasant, prompt service and oversee day-to-day operations in a fast-paced environment. You will prepare menu items according to GYG procedures and maintain up-to-date knowledge of the menu, ingredients, and processes.

Reporting to the Restaurant Manager, you should bring strong English, RSA, multitasking ability, and a proactive, team-driven attitude. This franchise restaurant is operated by OTR Group in Australia.

Qualifications

• Advanced English required (if not native).
• RSA certificate holder preferred.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Basic computer skills; learn POS/EFTPOS operations.
• Understanding of Australian currency and loyalty cards.

The Role

Reporting to the Restaurant Manager, Shift Leaders are responsible for the ongoing delivery of pleasant and prompt service to customers, and the preparation of menu items according to the procedures and processes outlined by GYG. Shift Leaders are to maintain a complete knowledge of GYG menu items, ingredient and procedures at all times in order to proactively and promptly deliver high quality Mexican products.

To Be Successful In This Role, You Should Have/be

• Advanced English skills (if non-native)
• RSA certificate
• Ability to multitask and work in a really fast paced environment
• Basic computer skills and capability of learning Point of Sales and EFTPOS machine operation
• General understanding of Australian currency, payment methods and loyalty cards
• Outgoing and approachable personality
• Patience and eagerness to help customers
• Capability of maintaining a clean, tidy and organised work station
• Willingness to learn and a proactive, enthusiastic personality
• Good communication skills and great ability to work as part of a team

Previous experience in customer service or food preparation will be regarded but it is not essential. Having the right attitude is the key!
