Job summary

Winchester Australia is seeking an experienced Gunsmith/Armourer to join our Geelong Head Office, delivering high‑quality gunsmithing, technical support and range services while supporting customers, Sales teams and industry partners.

The role offers a varied mix of gunsmithing, warranty work, training and field support, with careful attention to safety, compliance and accurate record-keeping across our workshop and ranges.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience in gunsmithing, firearm servicing and workshop activities.
  • Knowledge of firearms legislation, trade requirements and Victorian regulations, with a current firearms licence.
  • Gunsmith/Armourer certification or a relevant equivalent trade qualification, such as Fitter & Turner.
  • Previous experience within the firearms, shooting or related industries.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills, with good computer literacy including Microsoft Office and business applications.
  • A current driver’s licence and a strong commitment to WHS, safety and compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Perform warranty repairs, paid repairs, servicing and testing to a consistently high standard.
  • Provide technical advice and support to Sales and Customer Service, helping deliver timely and practical customer outcomes.
  • Maintain the gunsmith workshop and range to ensure a safe, clean, functional and professional environment.
  • Provide range testing capability and technical support to Military and Law Enforcement customers.
  • Develop strong working relationships with internal teams, brand partners and industry contacts.
  • Manage relevant gunsmithing, ballistics and destruction-goods inventory, ensuring accurate stock control and processing.
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure all work is captured within company systems.
  • Ensure all activities comply with relevant legislation, company policies, quality standards and WHS requirements, while contributing to projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Undertake International travel to suppliers for technical training and skills development
