Job summary

Rydges Resort Hunter Valley is seeking a part-time Reservations Agent to be the first point of contact for guest inquiries by phone and online. You will manage bookings, respond to requests, and coordinate with the operations team to deliver seamless guest experiences.

Knowledge of Opera PMS and strong communication are essential, along with a welcoming, professional approach and the ability to handle busy periods, upsell services, and support various shifts.

Qualifications

• Experience in a similar customer service role, ideally within a hotel setting.
• Must be compliant – you’ll be above minimum age required and hold a valid driver’s license in your state.
• Clear, confident communication to handle guest concerns and compliments.
• Fluent in English; additional languages are a plus.
• Strong organisational skills and ability to meet deadlines.
• Tech-savvy with basic maths and computers.

Responsibilities

• Maintain knowledge of standard reservation procedures and the Opera PMS.
• Be a trusted contact for guests; assist with issues and escalate to management when needed.
• Record guest preferences and manage messages, requests and inquiries.
• Take and manage guest bookings, upsell opportunities and communicate options for a better stay.
• Assist with ad-hoc duties as required by colleagues.
• Log guest complaints and inform management of issues.
• Perform check-in/check-out in Opera via telephone.
• Manage FIT and group reservations, waitlists and no-shows.
• Update the PMS with special requirements and durations of stay.
• Maintain high accuracy in reservations and guest requests and ensure clear communication.
• Improve profile management and stay informed on rates and promotions.
• Maintain interdepartmental relationships and communicate effectively.
