Job summary

Airnorth is seeking a Part-Time Ground Operations Support Officer based at Darwin Airport. The role involves assisting with passenger boarding, catering handling, and support for aircraft turnarounds across regional flights.

Flexibility to work a seven-day roster, including weekends and public holidays, is essential. Applicants should be physically fit for lifting up to 32 kg, have good communication skills, and be able to use MS Word and Excel.

Qualifications

• Physical ability to lift items up to 32 kg.
• Aviation experience preferred but not essential.
• Flexible with roster including weekends and public holidays.
• Strong organisational and time-management skills with high accuracy.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience in stock control is desirable.
• Basic computer skills in MS Word and Excel.
• Ability to obtain and maintain an Aviation Identification Security Card (ASIC).

Responsibilities

• Assisting with the boarding and marshalling of passengers.
• Preparing, loading and unloading catering for all flights out of Darwin; including return sectors.
• Traveling to regional airports to support aircraft turnarounds—passenger check-in and baggage loading.
• Providing assistance to passengers with disabilities (e.g., pushing wheelchairs).
• Other duties as required to support airport operations.

Opportunities are available within our Ground Operations department for a Part-Time Ground OperationsSupport Officer to join our team based at the Darwin Airport.

Hours of work are rostered over a 7-day rotating roster including weekends and public holidays, so it is essential that interested candidates are flexible with their availability.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assisting with the boarding and marshalling of passengers
• Preparing, loading, and unloading of catering for all flights out of Darwin including return sectorsTravelling as required to regional airports to support aircraft turnarounds – passenger check-in and loading of baggage
• Providing assistance to passengers with disabilities e.g. pushing wheelchairs etc
• Other duties as required to assist with the airport operation.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

• Previous experience in aviation desirable but not essential
• Must be physically fit to lift items up to and including 32kg
• Previous experience in handling general items – packing, loading, unloading and stocktaking
• Good organisational skills and time management, including a high level of accuracy and an eye for detail
• Good communication skills, both written and verbal
• Previous experience in stock control
• Basic computer skills in MS Word and Excel
• Be able to hold and maintain an Aviation Identification Security Card (ASIC).
