Job summary

Airnorth is seeking a Darwin-based Licensed Avionics (B2) Aircraft Maintenance Engineer to join our NT Engineering Team. You will troubleshoot, perform routine and non-routine maintenance, and repair aircraft systems in accordance with regulatory requirements and company procedures.

AMEs certify work, supervise apprentices, and may travel for AOG situations. The role involves hangar, ramp, and outdoor environment duties on a 11-hour shift over a 4 day on/4 day off roster.

Qualifications

  • CASA licence held (type not required).
  • Understanding Civil Aviation Safety Regulations applicable to Certificate of Approvals.
  • Ability to obtain and hold an ASIC and an Airside Drivers Licence.
  • Experience on Embraer aircraft and/or in Darwin Airport preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and perform routine and non-routine maintenance.
  • Perform repairs on aircraft systems and components.

About The Role

Airnorth is recruiting for a Darwin based Licenced Avionics (B2) Aircraft Maintenance Engineer to join our NT Engineering Team in troubleshooting, conducting routine and non-routine maintenance, and performing repairs on various aircraft systems and components in accordance with regulatory requirements and company procedures.

Aircraft Maintenance Engineers hold responsibility for performing and certifying for scheduled and unscheduled maintenance of aircraft as directed, and Licenced AMEs are also required to supervise and certify for aircraft work carried out by unlicensed AMEs and apprentices who are assigned to work under their supervision.

Darwin Airnorth Engineers are currently employed under an 11-hour shift over a 4 day on, 4 day off roster. Travel may be required on short notice, especially in AOG situations. Aircraft Maintenance will require work in hangars, on the ramp, or in other outdoor environments.

Essential And Desirable Requirements

We are looking for Engineers who hold a CASA licence (type not necessarily required), have a strong understanding of the Civil Aviation Safety Regulations applicable to Certificate of Approvals, and demonstrated time management skills to work under pressure. High levels of written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills are required, along with great problem-solving abilities, high attention to detail, and the ability to work and contribute proactively within a small team environment.

Airnorth Engineers are required to use various systems across the CASA and company networks and must have the ability to obtain and hold an ASIC as well as an Airside Drivers Licence. Human Factors training and a current passport are also essential.

Multiple years of experience in aircraft maintenance is desirable, as is experience on Embraer aircraft and/or working at Darwin Airport.
