Job summary

Airnorth is seeking a Part-Time Ground Operations Support Officer based at Darwin Airport. You will assist with boarding, marshalling, catering loading, and passenger assistance, contributing to smooth turnarounds across regional flights.

Flexibility is essential due to 7-day rotating roster. You should be physically fit to lift up to 32kg and able to obtain an Aviation Identification Security Card (ASIC). Training provided and employee benefits apply.

Qualifications

• Previous aviation experience is desirable but not essential.
• Must be physically fit to lift items up to 32 kg.
• Basic computer skills in MS Word and Excel.
• Be able to hold and maintain an Aviation Identification Security Card (ASIC).
• Good organisational skills and time management with attention to detail.
• Good written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Assisting with the boarding and marshalling of passengers.
• Preparing, loading, and unloading catering for all flights from Darwin including return sectors.
• Traveling to regional airports to support aircraft turnarounds – passenger check-in and baggage loading.
• Providing assistance to passengers with disabilities (e.g., pushing wheelchairs).
• Other duties as required to support airport operation.

Opportunities are available within our Ground Operations department for a Part-Time Ground Operations Support Officer to join our team based at the Darwin Airport. Hours of work are rostered over a 7-day rotating roster including weekends and public holidays, so it is essential that interested candidates are flexible with their availability.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assisting with the boarding and marshalling of passengers
• Preparing, loading, and unloading of catering for all flights out of Darwin including return sectors
• Travelling as required to regional airports to support aircraft turnarounds – passenger check-in and loading of baggage
• Providing assistance to passengers with disabilities e.g. pushing wheelchairs etc
• Other duties as required to assist with the airport operation.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

• Previous experience in aviation desirable but not essential
• Must be physically fit to lift items up to and including 32kg
• Previous experience in handling general items – packing, loading, unloading and stocktaking
• Good organisational skills and time management, including a high level of accuracy and an eye for detail
• Good communication skills, both written and verbal
• Previous experience in stock control
• Basic computer skills in MS Word and Excel
• Be able to hold and maintain an Aviation Identification Security Card (ASIC).
