Job summary

Rimfire Resources is seeking a Grains Procurement Specialist in Victoria/Southern NSW to manage end-to-end grain contracts and raw material procurement to support production across facilities.

You will negotiate with approved suppliers, oversee documentation and contract management, and work with the grains team to ensure supply reliability, inventory control, and market awareness.

Qualifications

• 3+ years experience in the grains sector in a relevant role.
• Degree in agriculture or economics preferred.
• Strong communication and attention to detail.

The Opportunity

Working closely with the Grains team leader, you will be responsible for the end to end management of grain contracts and grain procurement, with direction and support to purchase the required raw materials to ensure ongoing production across all facilities. You will be directed regarding approved suppliers and pricing elements to successfully negotiate and purchase products, and then be responsible for overseeing all relevant documentation and contract management.

In this role you will:

• Negotiate and manage all commodity contracts, from execution to payment and conclusion
• Manage internal grain inventory levels at each site tracking raw material inventory, usage and forecast requirements
• Execute Grain Movement Orders
• Manage and track all contract draw downs and grain storage handling facilities
• Maintain relationships with grain trade suppliers and develop new business where possible
• Evaluate and recommend suppliers/vendors
• Provide market information relating to position and product quality relevant to raw materials to ensure wider team is across market trends and information.

About You

To be successful, you will have a close affinity to the Australian commodities sector, ideally relevant tertiary qualifications in an agricultural or economics degree as well as knowledge of grain contract and supply chain systems. You ideally will have 3+ years experience in the grains sector in a relevant role to give you an understanding of the major stakeholders and supply routes, with a high level of communication and attention to detail.
