What did you have for breakfast today? Whether it’s the flour in your toast or the grain in your cereal, it’s highly likely that GrainCorp helped get it onto your plate.

As we find new ways to connect rural communities with food, animal feed and industrial customers around the world, we are proud to say we’re leading the way in sustainable agriculture.

This is an opportunity to play a part in that story.

As the Site Manager of our Donald grain storage and distribution site, you'll supervise a small team of Grain Handlers and actively take part in day-to-day operations: You will also be:

  • Working shoulder-to-shoulder with your team to ensure all commodities are received, stored and out loaded safely on time, within budget and to the required quality standard. This is a roll-up-your-sleeves kind of leadership role.
  • Coordinating day-to-day activities of the team; coach and support development of team members
  • Getting to know, understand and apply our enterprise agreement and people processes
  • Developing and maintaining close relationships with local growers, customers, and the local community
  • Coordinating and preparing for area maintenance and pest control teams to deliver required services
  • Identifying and reporting on maintenance requirements and maintain site presentation and standards
  • Managing programmes and initiatives related to safety ('zero harm' culture) and risk management.

Our busiest time of the year is the annual post-winter harvest period, which can last for up to three months and involves managing several harvest casuals and contractors in receiving thousands of tonnes of grain from local growers. It's an incredibly rewarding experience seeing local grain fill up silos and bunkers, delivered by diverse, hardworking and passionate teams.

  • Experience supervising, supporting and developing workgroups / individuals
  • Ability and willingness to work flexible hours to meet operational demands
  • Capacity to work at heights and in confined spaces
  • Current unrestricted driver licence and basic IT literacy.
