Job summary

SAGE Automation, part of the SAGE Group, is seeking a Graduate Engineer to join our automation team in Australia. You will gain hands-on exposure to electrical engineering, PLC/SCADA/HMI programming, testing, commissioning and documentation across exciting projects.

You will work under mentoring as you contribute to project delivery, liaise with managers and teams, and support tender bids. A recent Electrical Engineering graduate with enthusiasm for automation is ideal.

Qualifications

• Recent graduate of an Electrical Engineering degree eligible for state-based engineering registration.
• Demonstrate knowledge of PLC, SCADA and HMI systems.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to electrical engineering tasks on automation projects from design to handover.
• Collaborate with management and internal teams to support technical delivery.
• Assist Project Managers, Automation Technicians and estimators with project bids and proposals.

We are looking for a talented and enthusiastic Graduate Engineer to join our team. You will have the opportunity to combine professional and technical learning, on-the job learning alongside ongoing mentoring whilst working on real-world, innovative projects. You will have the opportunity work on industrial automation projects from kick-off to hand over, including design documentation, PLC RTU and SCADA programming, factory acceptance testing, on-site commissioning and hand-over documentation.

In this role you will:

• Focus on electrical engineering, control systems and automation.

• Have the confidence and ability to liaise with management and internal teams to provide assistance with the technical delivery and execution of projects.

• Work within a supportive team environment alongside other junior and senior Engineers, providing project assistance to the Project Managers and Automation Technicians.

• Assist Estimators with the development of proposals and tender bids.

Skills and Experience:

• Be a recent graduate of an Electrical Engineering degree or relevant engineering degree eligible for state-based engineering registration.

• Demonstrate some knowledge of PLC, SCADA and HMI systems.

• Understanding of electrical circuit fundamentals.

• Have high computer competency, particularly with MS Office.

• Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.

• Be highly motivated, enthusiastic, proactive and resourceful with a great attitude.

• Have a strong desire and interest to work within the automation industry.
