Job summary

SAGE Automation, a Tetra Tech company, is Australia’s leading independent industrial automation and control systems integrator, seeking a Senior Control Systems Engineer in Darwin to design, integrate, program and commission digital and analogue control systems.

You will lead a technical team, mentor graduates and junior engineers, ensure project scope aligns with customer needs, and deliver robust automation solutions across various industries in the NT.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree and 4+ years of experience in automation or process control.
• Experience with electrical design and programming on Rockwell, Siemens, Schneider PLCs and HMI/SCADA such as Ignition or Citect.
• Experience leading and mentoring Graduate and Junior Engineers; Australian citizenship is required or highly regarded.

• Be accountable for the team’s performance in achieving schedule, quality and budget targets.
• Apply engineering concepts, practices, and theories to design technical solutions.
• Understand and drive results that meet the customer’s real needs.
• Deliver technical solutions that meet the scope of the project and support the strategic development for the business.
• Commission electrical control systems and motion control applications i.e. variable frequency drives and servo drives.
• Identify and mitigate technical risk, escalating high risk items to management.

We are currently seeking applications from experienced Senior Control Systems Engineers to join our team to support the delivery of projects in Darwin. Working on the very latest technology, you will be responsible for design, integration, programming and commissioning of digital and analogue control systems.

In This Role You Will

Skills & Experience

• Relevant Engineering degree and project experience.
• 4+ years of experience in the design and development of automated or process control systems.
• Proven experience in electrical design, code development and programming on Rockwell, Siemens, Schneider PLCs and various HMI/SCADA such as Ignition or Citect systems.
• Previous experience leading and mentoring Graduate and Junior Engineers.
• You must be an Australian Citizen, current Defence Security Clearance is highly regarded.
