Job summary

SAGE Automation, a Tetra Tech company, part of the SAGE Group, seeks a Senior Electrical Design Engineer in Adelaide to lead electrical design across multiple projects.

You will liaise with clients, produce designs to meet requirements, and mentor a small team to deliver complex solutions while aligning with project budgets and schedules.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of proven experience in transport, energy, utilities or manufacturing sectors.
• Eligible for state-based engineering registration in Electrical Engineering.
• Design experience including PLC I/O systems and hazardous areas.
• Experience calculating cable sizing, maximum demand, and discrimination.

Responsibilities

• Liaise directly with clients to develop and refine scopes of work.
• Prepare and deliver electrical designs meeting project requirements, budgets and timelines.
• Support Regional Engineering Manager to drive team performance.
• Mentor and support a small team delivering complex engineering solutions.

As a Senior Electrical Design Engineer at SAGE, you will ensure the successful delivery of professional engineering design services in multiple areas of engineering competency across concurrent projects.

In this role you will:

• Be confident in liaising directly with clients in developing and refining scopes of work as needed.

• Manage the preparation and production of electrical designs to meet project requirements, specifications, budgets, and timeframes.

• You will support the Regional Engineering Manager to drive the team’s performance in achieving schedule, quality, and targets.

• Assist in mentoring and supporting a small team to successfully and competently deliver complex engineering solutions for a variety of projects.

Skills & Experience:

• Electrical Engineering degree with 5+ years of proven experience within transport, energy, utilities or manufacturing sectors.

• Eligible for state-based engineering registration in Electrical Engineering.

• Solid knowledge of systems engineering principles and practices including AutoCAD Electrical.

• Verifiable design experience including PLC I/O systems and hazardous area.

• Proven experience of calculating cable sizing, maximum demand, and discrimination.

• Excellent communication skills with the confidence to engage with key stakeholders at all levels.
