Job summary

SAGE Automation, a Tetra Tech company, is Australia’s leading independent automation and control systems integrator, part of the SAGE Group. We invite a Junior Engineer to join our National Operations Centre (NOC) to grow through hands-on projects and mentoring.

You will support engineering tasks, customer service, and safe delivery of control solutions, leveraging PLC/SCADA/HMI knowledge and industry tools. Melbourne/Adelaide/Brisbane locations are considered.

Qualifications

• Electrical Engineering degree with 1-2 years post graduate experience.
• Demonstrate knowledge of PLC, SCADA and HMI systems.
• Experience with Siemens, Ignition and FactoryTalk is highly desirable.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with first response or support for urgent works as required.
• Apply creativity and resourcefulness to resolve engineering and support tasks.
• Provide high-quality customer service and maintain relationships.
• Support a safety-first approach to service delivery.
• Identify and mitigate technical risk and escalate high-risk items.
• Document support and maintenance records accurately and keeping them up to date.

In this role, you will:

• Apply creativity and resourcefulness to resolving problems that arise from engineering and support tasks and apply concepts and strategies that may require non-traditional methods to achieve overall results.
• Provide high-quality customer service and maintain strong customer relationships.
• Support a safety-first approach to every aspect of service delivery.
• Assist with the first response or support the resolution for all new and urgent works as required.
• Assist in identifying and mitigating technical risk, escalating high risk items to senior team members and management.
• Learn to accurately document support and maintenance records and ensure they are kept up to date.

Skills & Experience:

• Electrical Engineering degree with 1-2 years post graduate experience.
• Demonstrate some knowledge of PLC, SCADA and HMI systems.
• Previous experience with Siemens, Ignition, and FactoryTalk is highly desireable.
• Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.
• Be highly motivated, enthusiastic, proactive and resourceful with a strong work ethic.
• Have a strong desire and interest to work within the automation industry.
• Able to embrace challenges and think on your feet in order to resolve problems.
• You will ideally be located in Adelaide, Melbourne or Brisbane, and must be capable of passing a Government background and security check.
