Job summary

AngloGold Ashanti Limited seeks a Principal, Mining Underground to lead underground mine planning and provide expert support across global assets. The role is based in Perth with options for Denver or Johannesburg, on a 5:2 roster, and requires travel to sites domestically and internationally.

You will deliver planning solutions, lead technical studies, and mentor engineers while aligning with safety, governance, and asset optimisation across the portfolio.

Qualifications

• Degree in a mining-related discipline and 15+ years in mining.
• Advanced design and scheduling software skills with Deswik/Datamine.
• Experience leading multi-disciplinary teams and global operations.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert mining planning and input to assigned operations.
• Deliver technical input for mining components of studies and reviews.
• Collaborate with units to identify opportunities and coach engineers.
• Support Full Asset Potential processes to improve cost and performance.
• Develop mining planning systems and ensure effective operation.
• Support and review Mineral Resource and Ore Reserve processes.
• Investigate opportunities through mining technologies and supervise trials.
• Maintain and monitor compliance with policies, guidelines and standards.
