Job summary

John Paul College is seeking a dedicated Homestay Officer to join the International and Accommodation team. The role provides welfare, accommodation and compliance support for international students in homestay, coordinating with families and the college across day-to-day operations.

You will handle welfare checks, admissions support, and record-keeping with accuracy, while coordinating with the ESOS framework and 24/7 emergency response.

Qualifications

• Experience in a student services, accommodation, welfare or administrative support role.
• Ability to build trusted relationships with students, parents and homestay providers from diverse backgrounds.
• Willingness to develop knowledge of ESOS framework and child safety practices.
• Strong organisational skills with accuracy in record-keeping.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and using databases.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day welfare support to international students and assist with homestay adjustments and support.
• Support admissions process for students entering homestay, including documentation and interviews.
• Monitor welfare and elevate concerns to the Homestay Manager promptly.
• Maintain positive relationships with homestay families, including training and verification checks.
• Conduct homestay visits and re-inspections, following up on remediation items.
• Communicate with parents/families via newsletters and digital correspondence.
• Support Extended Day Program including meals, tutors and transport; assist supervision.
• Take calls on the 24/7 emergency hotline and participate in critical incident response.
• Maintain accurate records in PRISMS and ensure ESOS/National Code compliance.
• Support child safety practices and coordinate training records for hosts.
• Assist with payments to homestay families and recruit/recognise host families.
