Careers at Council in New South Wales seeks a temporary GIS Analyst to join the Council's GIS team for six months. You will provide advanced spatial analysis, modelling and geospatial data development services, and assist in maintaining the GIS environment and infrastructure.
The successful candidate will work on business-led GIS projects supporting planning, assets, infrastructure and environmental teams, and contribute to ongoing improvements in GIS capabilities.
This position is temporary for 6 months.
This position will join Council's GIS team and will help to provide advanced spatial analysis, modelling and geospatial data development services. It will assist in managing and maintaining the Council's GIS environment and infrastructure and help to deliver ongoing improvements in our GIS capabilities.
The successful candidate will work on a mixture of business lead GIS projects to support planning, asset, infrastructure and environmental teams as well as technical projects to improve our GIS infrastructure.
Tertiary qualifications relevant to the position, or equivalent experience in spatial analysis or geospatial role. Proven knowledge and experience in the use of GIS software tools (Council currently utilises MapInfo and QGIS) to deliver spatial analysis and data. Strong problem-solving background and experience in understanding and documenting business requirements.
Remuneration: base salary commencing at $100,301 gross per annum
