Job summary

Blue Mountains City Council in Katoomba NSW seeks a temporary GIS Analyst for six months to join our GIS team. You will deliver advanced spatial analysis, modelling and geospatial data development services, supporting planning, asset, infrastructure and environmental teams.

The role requires tertiary qualifications in spatial analysis or equivalent GIS experience, with knowledge of MapInfo and QGIS, and the ability to understand and document business requirements.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualifications relevant to the position, or equivalent experience in spatial analysis or geospatial role.
• Experience using GIS software tools to deliver spatial analysis and data (MapInfo and QGIS).
• Strong problem-solving and ability to document business requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provide advanced spatial analysis, modelling and geospatial data development services.
• Support planning, asset, infrastructure and environmental teams.
• Maintain GIS environment and infrastructure and deliver ongoing improvements.
